Posted by Frishawn on Apr 20, '08 6:17 PM for everyone I know that it has been forever since my last post, but so much has changed. For one, I no live in Georgia. I now live in Orlando Florida! The land of the M-O-U-S-E! I am also proud to say that I now work for Disney World!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! My DH is also here with me and he now works for a home-theater installation company called WIRED. My daughters are still in Georgia until the end of the school year, then they will be here with us. They were able come down here and spend their Spring Break with us. Lots of time at the pool, at trip to Universal Studios, as well as a trip to Downtown Disney! THEY HAD SOOOO MUCH FUN!! I can't forget that my beautiful niece Tajshienek (TINK) came down with them. They were all able to get their EARS! There are pics in my phone and as soon as I figure out how to get them out of there. I will post them. In stitching news....I have two finishes to report! I have finished Taurus and Aries kitties in the Margaret Sherry AstroCats Calender series. I am working on the Scorpio kitty for my daughter Nyasia. I also plan to join in on the fun of the BOINK stitch-along at ink circles. I am so glad to be on-line again and I will be posting more now that I am. I hope that all is well with all of you and that you are all getting lots of stitching done. Stitches, Frishawn
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 16, '07 6:34 AM for everyone I am one truely blessed lady...I was sitting in my bedroom yesterday when I began to smell a very strange smell coming from the heat vent. I called DH to see if he could smell it too and he said that he could as soon as he hit the stairs. So we got the kids and the pup out of the house and called the gas company. The gas guy said that there was no gas leak, but there was a dangerous carbon monoxide leak in the house. I know that carbon monoxide is oderless...so I thank God that I was alerted with the smell that saved my family and me. We are all back in the house now, though a little chilly due to not being able to use the furnace to heat the house. DH was able to go out and find a space heater for the girls. He and I are doing the snuggle and cover thing. I don't know about you...but I believe in Christmas miracles! Love, Frishawn
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 13, '07 10:42 PM for everyone This is M. Sherry's "Cool Yule" from the Archie series. I don't know what came over me. I decided that I would stitch the Santa suit in Rayon...yes, I said the R word. It isn't too bad, just a little tedious because I have to stitch slower (like that is possible) and with shorter strands of floss. I should finish the belt and the lower part of the suit tomorrow, its all red on red. I really can't wait to see this one done. In other news...furry butt is on his regular food and back to sleeping on the futon in my office. No running yet, but there is lots of barking when guests come to the door and much tail wagging. His stitches are looking really good and he is really good about keeping them clean. I can't let him roam the backyard anymore. The backyard was the scene of his dietary crime. Now he has to go out front on his leash. I am sooooo glad that things are going well for the furry one. Thanks to everyone for all of your support and well wishes for MAX!!! I love you all so very much. Hugs, Frishawn & Max
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 13, '07 12:59 AM for everyone Max is home!!! He got home yesterday. He is still a little sore, and not guite up to jumping off of the furniture yet...but he's getting there. The stitches on his tummy look great. I have to call the vet to find out if they are the kind that I have to have removed or not. I know that he is in belly rub heaven because I have to rub him to keep the itchies at bay. He felt well enough to walk all the way to the corner house when we went out earlier today. The girls are so happy that he is back. They really missed him stealing their toys. DH even let him sleep in our bed...and that never happens! I have also been stitching M. Sherry's "Cool Yule". I promise to post pics on my next entry.
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 10, '07 1:00 AM for everyone Yes, it's true! Hell has frozen over and I have actually finished Archie! He was finshed on Sunday! (Isn't he the cutest thing??) You would be surprised how fast stitching all that yellow can wear on the nerves! So now it's on to "Cool Yule", another Archie with him in a Santa suit. (More red...yellow not so much!) I haven't had any word on Max since my last report on Saturday and am going NUTS! Just a few more hours to wait though. It's nearly 1:00 am, so I anly have to wait til 7:00 am for the vet to open. So here I am plotting my next stitches and waiting.
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 8, '07 12:34 PM for everyone No sleep for me. Max, my furbaby, had surgery to remove a large amount of sand, leaves, and other plant matter from his tummy. His surgery was sometime around 5:30 pm yesterday and since the vet's closed at 7:00 pm, I had to wait til 7:30 this morning for an update. So I was up all night stitching. I got a lot done on Archie last night. I just have a few stitches left on the sun over his head and his nose. then it is back to the BACKSTITCH! As for Max...the doctor said that he was doing fine and that they were going to keep him over the weekend so that he could get the IV fluids that he needs and be monitored. She said that if he was still fine and eating by Monday he could come home. YAY!!!!!!!
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 5, '07 2:42 PM for everyone Yipppeeeeeeeee....I am finally in the home stretch on Archie...On the Bright Side. I put his glasses and his nose on last night. I also got a lot done on his feet. I also got to watch the last part of Tin Man. I really liked it and I think it will make it to my DVD list. I know that I have to get this finished soon, because my startitis is rearing up. I am already scoping out fabric for the next Archie that I want to do. I think that it has something to do with the fact that I am dreading all the backstitching that I have to do.
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 4, '07 3:54 PM for everyone I really got a lot of work done on my Archie last night. As you may or may not be able to tell, his hind end is in and also half of his sunglasses. I was hoping to get more done but with the 2 hour premieres of The Closer and Saving Grace on the boob tube, there was only soooo much stitching to be done. I had also scheduled the 2nd part of Tin Man, but for some reason I ended up watching Runaway Bride on DVD. Thankfully I am able to watch the full episode online on the Scifi Channel website. Yippeeeeeeeee! Hopefully, I will finish Archie today. I really want to get started on the other patterns I have kitted.
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 3, '07 4:57 PM for everyone When I went back to do the the research on the copyright for my darling Archies, guess what I found??? I just so happens that the patterns that I am working on... as well as the one that came under fire from HSC are not even under THEIR copyright. As it turns out the copyrights for these patterns are held by CROSS STITCHER as they were published in their magazine. All I have to say is "Nanie nanie BOO BOO...they have stepped in POO and it's on their shoe."
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 3, '07 12:57 AM for everyone No pictures tonight, but there was stitching. I put the top of Archie's neck in while I watched the first part of Tin Man on the Scifi Channel. I loved it by the way and I can't wait to get it on DVD. I also kitted more Archies. I kitted: Brilliant,Messy Sspaghetti, Summer Holiday, Trick or Treat, Cool Yule, and Chocoholic. Whooooohoooooo! I hope to finish my current Archie tomorrow. I will post pictures one way or the other.
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 2, '07 4:11 AM for everyone Well...here is the third installment in M. Sherry's Archie "On the Bright Side." As you can see his arm is comming in. I think that he is going to be so cute. I have decided to post photos in my blog every day, in order to help keep myself on track. I know that the more I post, the more I will want to finish what I start. I have at least 12 Archies that I would love to finish and I wonder how many I will get finished if I follow my new plan.
Posted by Frishawn on Nov 30, '07 5:22 PM for everyone It appears that my site has been viewed by Heritage Stitch Craft due to the posting of my "Crafty Cat". I don't think that I have done anything wrong in posting this, it is after all MY FINISHED work and not a copy of the pattern. I have to go into my stash and find the pattern again so that I can post the copyright info on the picture page. When I clicked the link to the HSC page, I was hit in the face with the US copyright law! As a stitcher and a designer, I am more than aware of copyright law. My posting of my finished work is only an attempt to share the fruit of the labor that I love with friends. I bought the magazine from which the piece was stitched and gave full credit to the designer in my photo caption. Am I supposed to call England everytime that I stitch M Sherry to ask if I can post it to my site! OFF MY SOAP BOX! Frishawn

Posted by Frishawn on Mar 22, '07 3:42 PM for everyone I know that I have been very lax in posting to my blog...but I hope to remedy that. I have been stashing and today I received my long awaited threads. I bought St George for my birthday and decided to use Carrie's Creations Over the Rainbow to stitch it. I must say that I was most impressed with the color, sheen and softness of said threads. I cannot wait to stitch with them. I know that I will buy more! Please forgive the scan...I know that it doesn't do the colors justice!
Now I just have to set about finding patterns to stitch!
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 21, '06 3:30 AM for everyone I am hard at work on Noah's Sub...
I really didn't want to work on the sea that is under the sub, there are many color changes. Today I bit the bullet though; and I must say that my efforts are proving most fruitful. I am trying to do as much as I can before I lose my nerve and drown in all that blue. I am greatful for the small areas of pink that are here and there. I am helped along by my audiobook Mossflower by Brian Jaques.
Posted by Frishawn on Dec 17, '06 4:44 PM for everyone Yes...It is true, I started Noah's Sub again on Thursday. I had to restart after my last attempt was ruined by the FROG and a pair of very sharp scissors. I decided that I would stitch a vertical area instead of doing the big yellow line that happens when you start from th center and go across. I love all the colors and I think that this will be a main project at least until the New Year. I can't see myself getting bored with this anytime soon. I must admit that I am not too fond of stitching the animals in the portholes. There are so many color changes in such small areas and trying to keep everything neat in there is a pain. I have been working on this piece every day and I will work on it tonight as well. I have to go and check out Shawn's album to see how far ahead of me she is now. I'm gonna catch you girlie

I am thrilled to announce that today was the day that the newest arrival to the Zoo Atlanta Panda Program received her name.
The now 100 day-old fluff ball was given the name Mei Lan "Atlanta beauty".
I don't know when I will make it to the zoo to see her in person, but as soon as I do I will post pics of her.

You aren't sure where you came from. Perhaps your sire did an embrace and run. Or maybe your sire was an outcast himself. Either way, your powers are unique and really don't belong to any clan...or maybe a little from each. Because you of these circumstances, you aren't really sure where you belong. You tend to wander and do a bit of soul searching in your eternal life. Maybe some day...you have a while after all.
What Vampire Clan Do You Belong To? |
The Caitiff
The clansless. Caitiffs, are a new aspect to the vampire's society. They don't have anyone to teach them Disciplines, and no one to tell them of the Traditions. This doesn't mean they don't know any Disciplines, they could very well make their own, but usually they figure out a few small tricks to a few Disciplines. Some may even group together every once in a while, but not likely. They prefer their freedom, and the will to do what they will.
Caitiff are vampires with no clan to call their own. This usually happens because their sire despised them and left them to die. And the occasional victim of feeding gets lucky, and some how gets some of the vampires blood. They are also the rebellious ones, and some take leave of their sire and do as they will, most of the time moving to a new city or some where remote.
Most of the other clans look upon the Caitiff as trash, weak blooded, no knowledge of who and what they are and leave them to them selves as long as they don't cause any trouble, and most defiantly don't break the Masquerade.

Posted by Frishawn on Dec 4, '06 11:58 PM for everyone Tired...I wish I could say that I had stitched or designed but I have not. My father is supposed to come and fix the broken pipe tomorrow. River the basement...movie at 11. No water for the rest of the house. Kids shipped off to my SIL's. I could have stitched my heart out this week-end, but I was far to sick. UTI strikes again! Whoooohoooo!!!!! The joys of cranberry juice and antibiotics. DH had to take all the laundry that got soaked to the Fluff & Fold. All $278.33 dollars worth. I on the other hand slept. I have so much done on the Woodland Santa by Stoneycreek, that I could almost taste it. So the fact that I haven't stitched in 3 days is maddening.
